Official Mail Center

The Official Mail Center (OMC) provides official mail services to personnel assigned to Eielson AFB. These services are primarily for our military members assigned to Unaccompanied Housing/Dormitories and our Squadrons. We also provide general mail delivery service for our incoming personnel, as well as those on TDY assignments. 

The OMC does not deliver mail to on-base housing. This service is provided by the United States Postal Service (USPS). There is a USPS office located in our building for all USPS services.

Postal Service Center

The Postal Service Center (PSC) operates on behalf of the USPS and is responsible for carrying out USPS policies, procedures, laws, and regulations governing the USPS. The PSC mail delivery schedule is Monday thru Friday, except for Federal holidays. The PSC can assist with limited return package services. Please contact the mail room for any period of time you are unable to pick up your mail.

General Mail

Eielson AFB offers a General Mail pick-up service for those on PCS/TDY orders and is good for a period of 90 days while house hunting, settling into the dormitories, or temporarily assigned to the base.

Personnel wanting to use our General Delivery Service to forward their mail can use a specific address. Contact us for further guidance. 

Once you have established a permanent residence, please fill out a USPS change of address card.

Lodging Personnel

Personnel residing in lodging with official orders should contact us if requiring mail service. 
SPS and the OMC do not deliver personal mail to lodging addresses. Personnel in lodging, not on official orders may contact the USPS for mail service.

Restrictions

DO NOT MAIL hazardous, restricted, and perishable items prohibited in the USPS mail stream. Below are examples of materials that cannot be sent. This is not an all-inclusive list.  If in doubt, please contact us.

  • Weapons (Contact OMC for details)
  • Alcohol
  • Corrosives
  • Explosives or Flammables/Combustibles
  • Liquids or Gasses (Pressurized)
  • Biological Products
  • Drug Paraphernalia
  • Plant or Meat Products
  • Live Animals (Contact OMC for details)
