R4R Family Rafting Trip

This trip is open only to Eielson stationed airmen and their families. ***If you sign up for this trip and do not fall under that category you will not be allowed to participate*****.

Join Eielson Outdoor Recreation and Denali Raft Adventures for an afternoon of whitewater rafting on the border of Denali National Park. This trip includes shuttle to and from Denali and an 11-mile whitewater run on the Nenana River. Participants will be issued dry suits and safety instruction before heading to the river. On the river, participants will be paddling in a guided raft through the Canyon Section of the Nenana, which includes a series of Class III and IV rapids. This is a great beginner and intermediate rafting trip in the heart of the Alaska Range. Participants must be physically fit and at least 12 to participate. Participants will also need to dress in layers (avoiding cotton if possible) and bring:

Warm outdoor clothes
A wool or fleece beanie style hat
Two pair wool socks
Eye glass retainers
Water
Snacks/Meals

Participants will meet at Eielson Raven’s Nest at 11am. Buses will leave Eielson at 11:30am and return around 9:30pm.

RECON price of $20 per person is available to Eielson airmen and their families. Active duty members may bring up to three other family members. Minors must be accompanied by legal guardian.
